Be trustworthy to God

In 1 Samuel 2:12 to 17, we read about the corrupt sons of Eli, the Bible says "they did know the Lord. And the priests' custom with the people was when any man offered a sacrifice, the priest's servant would come with a three-pronged fleshhook in his hand while the meat was boiling. Then he would thrust it into the pan, or kettle, or caldron, or pot; and the priest would take for himself all that the fleshook brought up. So they did in Shiloh to all the Israelites who came there."

Also, before they burned the fat, the priest’s servant would come and say to the man who sacrificed, “Give meat for roasting to the priest, for he will not take boiled meat from you, but raw.” And if the man said to him, “They should really burn the fat first; then you may take as much as your heart desires,” he would then answer him, “No, but you must give it now; and if not, I will take it by force.” Therefore the sin of the young men was very great before the Lord, for men abhorred the offering of the Lord.”

We are all priests in our own lives, but some of us are priests like the sons of Eli. They eat what they are not supposed to eat. The offering that is supposed to be for God, you eat before God can eat. When the offering is still boiling, you start eating before it can be ripe and before its dedicated to God. In that way you are cursing God with your finances.

Because we want to feed ourselves before we can please God. We want to make our own budget before we see God’s budget. We want to concentrate on our own needs before we can look at the needs of God. The Bible says this makes the Lord angry. Today I want you to ask yourself a question, that “in your life, who eats first, is it you or is it God? is it the giver of all or is it the receiver that eats first?

Look in your life and ask yourself, how you are going to be blessed when you reap before you can present your offering. We want to create our own store house in the world. When God tells us that we must not worry about tomorrow. we plan for our own households, but we don’t have time to plan for God.

Some of us will not die like the sons of Eli died, but our finances will die, so much that you will not see anything good in your life. You will find your career being stagnant, you will end up giving yourself a reason, that you cannot tithe because you don’t earn enough. If you think like that, let me tell you it will never be enough, until you start by making God your 1st priority.

In that little that you have, make God your 1st priority, then you will see that it will be enough. Some of your monies are being withheld, because you eat while things are still on the stove. While your offering is still boiling, you want to feed yourself. It will boil and boil, but you will never have that part that has boiled, because you feed yourself before God, you take your portion before God can have His portion.

You may not die physically, but your finances will die. In that little that you have, be faithful, so that God can entrust you with more. You will find yourself keeping money thinking it will sustain you till month end. But you will never have enough. Because you consult the devil before you give to God, he will deceive you and tell you that cannot give. But if you don’t consult the devil, you will find yourself having everything you need. You will find that every time that you have to pay debts they will tell you that you don’t owe them. But this only happens when you trust God.

The one thing that the devil uses to get us is by making us think that what we have is not enough. What amazes me is that, it’s never enough for God, but it’s enough to pay whatever that you want to pay. How come its always not enough for God? The same God that gave you that employment? The same God that releases every blessing? The same God that you prayed to when you wanted that employment?

When it’s time to pay your tithe, when it’s time to give your 1st fruits, you realize that it’s never enough. How come it’s enough for Him to promote you? How do you expect Him to give you more when you always argue with him? Children of God I want you to repent, if you are one of those people who always say “it’s never enough”.

If you have money to pay for your clothing account, but you don’t have money to give to God, then you haven’t made God your number one priority. Once you make Him your number one priority, all the things that will come after, will just happen by themselves. Because He said, seek first my Kingdom, and all things shall be added unto you.

This means that if you make Him your 1st priority, everything else will just happen by itself. You don’t need to understand how come. There is no theory in the things of God, there is no theory in the things of the spirit. Its only God and His face, so if you start looking for a theory, that is where you will miss the point, because with God’s things, there is no understanding. Because He said He will direct, you can only plan, but if your plans are not his plans, they will not come to pass.

You can make your own budget, but that is not His budget, because with Him, He can pay your debts, without Him going into that store, He can buy that grocery, without you understanding how come. He uses people that lives with us, that is why I’m saying in God’s things there is no theory. The only theory is to be trustworthy to God.

The only theory is to make Him your number one priority. We must involve God in all our things. We want to involve God in all areas of our lives, but there is one area where we say God must just wait. That is our finances, but in everything else we give Him the front row. In other words we are users. We use God, what is painful is that He just looks at us and shakes His head.

He will be thinking to Himself, if only you knew that if you can be trustworthy with your tithe, the plans that I have for you are greater than that R5000 that you don’t want to give. Because we cannot see what God has for us, we don’t understand what God has for us and we don’t understand His plans. As He says His plans are not are to prosper us.

But we 1st have to be trustworthy, some of the challenges that we face in our employment, they are there because we don’t pay our tithes. You will not receive your peace because you don’t pay your insurance. You need to pay your tithe insurance. So that God can cover you. Ask yourself who comes 1st. When God says He wants 10%, He needs exactly that. He doesn’t want less. And there is a reason He wants that.

We don’t have to make ourselves wise men & wise women, and give Him what we want to give Him, we must give Him what He tells us to give Him. So that you can have peace in that employment. So that you can have joy. Sometimes He doesn’t release wealth, but He releases the peace that surpasses all understanding.

Sometimes He releases supernatural understanding & wisdom. When He gives you a promotion, He gives you a mother of all promotions. So let us be trustworthy and let us make God our number one priority. Let’s stop eating the meat when its boiling. Wait, and give God the 1st plate, you will find that the rest that you are left with, will keep on multiplying & multiplying.

But if you want to start using calculations and formulas, you will go wrong, forget about all those formulas, the only formula, is for you to seek His Kingdom, everything else shall be added.
