Power of Giving
When you talk about giving, you are talking about God. Some of us just have to give to see the power of God. Do you know that you can live the whole year without praying but you only give, and nothing will ever touch you? Have you heard about the man called Abraham? Have you heard of him praying. Abraham was a man who practiced giving more than praying. He was a giver and because of that, God was close to him.
God spends time with people who give. God is Himself the greatest giver, that is why He likes people who give the best of what they have. John 3:16 says that God loved the world so much that He GAVE His only begotten Son. So that whoever believes in Him should not perish but should have everlasting life”. Therefore, giving is one of the greatest characteristic of God, and if you have this characteristic of giving, you will have the greatest relationship with God.
Look at the life of Solomon after he built the temple of God. He built it with very precious materials like gold and silver. He gave up those precious stones to build the house of God. When it was time to dedicate it, he offered a sacrifice of twenty-two thousand bulls and one hundred and twenty thousand sheep. Solomon gave so much of his possessions and his offerings and that prompted God to come down to him.
There is power in giving or offering. If you want to be successful, make giving your life. This principle of giving also applies to us Pastors, who oversee God’s temples. If you see a pastor who is successful and prosperous, he or she must be a giver.
Today, I am talking about the power in giving and not of prayer. Yes, there is power in prayer but giving can prevent a disaster to happen. The Word of God says God was about to destroy Sodom and Gomorra, but because God befriended Abraham because he shared the same characteristic of giving as Him. God changed His mind to destroy Sodom and Gomorra when he thought of Abraham and his giving deeds.
Lot was a prayerful person but could not stop the wrath of God towards his city and its people, but Abraham who was not so prayerful but could give precious offerings to God, Sodom and Gomorra was spared. God did not reveal His plan to destroy Sodom and Gomorra to Lot, but He chose to reveal it to Abraham because Abraham had a giving heart.
When you want to be successful or wealthy, you must be a giver. You must be able to give with even the last of your possession. However, Christians are suffering today because they have neglected this most important prerequisite of prosperity – which is Giving. Christians today only concentrate on prayer and fasting and attending conferences on prosperity, but they do not know that prosperity of wealth is not found in prayer but in giving.
Yes, prayer is powerful in its place. Prayer is able to bring miracles, but prosperity can only happen when you give. If you want to be successful and prosperous, start to apply the principle of giving in your life. Tithe and first-fruits are the most important principles of giving and they often bring an individual to an intimate relationship with God.
Giving brings one to be in a close relationship with God. If you want to be prosperous, do not pray, but give. However, if you want a miracle from God, be in prayer. There is so much power in giving, and prosperity comes through it. Giving brings you closer to God. The Book of Luke 6: 38 says “Give and it will be given to you, good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put in your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be given back to you”.
The Bible says that God is able to bring more blessings without measure to you if only you can give. He can release much blessing which can even overflow from you to other people, but only when you give. When you are Christian and you are still suffering, look at your life and establish if you are a giver or not. A born again Christian who is struggling, does not tithe, does not give offering or first fruit.
Malachi 3:10, says that you should not rob God, but there are Christians who do not observe this principle. When you are a Christian who does not tithe, who does not give offering and thanksgiving to God, do not expect to be prosperous. You would rather receive healing which has already been given by our Lord Jesus Christ on the cross at Calvary.
Jesus has already given us healing (1Peter 2: 24 “By His stripes, you are healed”), but with prosperity you need to give. God says that if you give to his servants, including the Prophet, He will open every door in your life (2Chronicles 20:20 – Believe in the Lord your God and you will be established. Believe His prophets and you shall prosper). There would not be a seal of a stamp of approval for prosperity in your life, unless you release your hand.
The Book Exodus 23:19, and also 34: 26 says “The first of the first fruits of your land you shall bring into the house of the Lord your God”. God says that you must bring the first fruit of what you receive. By first fruits God is saying you need to bring them into His house. This is followed by a tithe (which is ten percent of salary). If you have a business but you don’t tithe for the business, but you tithe only out of your salary, God will not bless your business.
When you give your first fruits, tithes and offerings as God instructs us to do, you will be financially viable even if you are going through a storm. Try God by applying this principle of giving first fruits, tithes and offering and you shall see what happens. Your financial life will never be the same and you shall be prosperous beyond measure. I know some of you are going through financial crisis but I am encouraging you to tap into this message which I just gave. Give and test my God, and you will witness the power of giving.
There is power in giving. Give and see what God will do in your life. I am a Prophet who is blessed by God with the anointing of prosperity. I am appealing to you to tap in this anointing and use it. This anointing must not only work for me, but it should work also in your lives. It should bring prosperity in your lives. However, prosperity does not come to you unless you give.
May God bless His Word.
