Walk faithfully before God
In 2 kings 20: 1 to 6, we read about Hezekiah, the ruler of God’s people. He was ill and he was about to die. So God sent prophet Isaiah to tell him that he must put his house in order as he is about to die. Hezekiah cried to the Lord and said “Remember, Lord, how I have walked before You faithfully and with wholehearted devotion and have done what is good in your eyes.” The Lord heard the cry of Hezekiah and sent Isaiah back to Hezekiah to tell him that he will heal him and add 15 more years to his life, only for His Name sake and for the sake of David.
If Hezekiah had not walked faithfully before God, he would have died. If Hezekiah did not have any good deeds, he would have died. But because of his good deeds, the Lord heard his prayers. For the sake of the Name of the Lord and of David, the Lord healed Hezekiah and added 15 more years to him. I want you to think of your own life now, that if your life was demanded from you, what are the good deeds that you can plead to God with?
If you are a giver, you will say “oh Lord remember my gifts”. But if you have no good deeds and you are not a giver what is it that you can bring before the Lord? If you have not been giving, you have an opportunity to give the best gift to God today. You have an opportunity to give God a gift that you can plead to Him with.
Children of God, do not be deceived, your gifts and offering do speak, and it will speak for you before God. Do not be like those who want to harvest where they have not planted. That cannot happen, because even the Bible does say that those who do not plant in season, are sluggards, meaning that they are lazy, an in harvest time they will have nothing to harvest. ( Proverbs 20:4).
As a child of God, you are already blessed, all you need to do is give in order to release your blessing. Some of you say that they are unemployed, you need to give in order to release that job, yes you must give out of that unemployment. It’s not just about money, you can also give your hands and your time. You can come to the house of God and clean. But some of you are just lazy. You just want to wake up at midday and do nothing. If you are lazy, you are delaying your own blessings.
No one can release your blessings for you. Not me, and not the Man of God. You are the only one that can release your God given blessings with your gift. When you give, you are also storing riches for yourself in Heaven. I just wish your eyes could be opened so that you can see what happens in the spiritual real when you give. Because when we all get to Heaven, we will have our store houses, but some will only find thorns in those storehouses, because they never gave.
When you give, do not think of the short term, but think of eternal life. When you give do not think of me or of the Prophet, because on judgement day you will be standing alone. You will be thinking of these messages that I have delivered and you did not receive them. Even me, on that day, that I was married to a prophet will not matter, but when you have good gifts, they will speak for you.
Learn to store up in your Heavenly treasure. Do not be like the lady who had so many clothes in her cupboard that she even kept some in her spare room, while we have a giving ministry that distribute clothes to the needy. I told her that instead of keeping the extra clothes in the spare room, she must rather store them in Heaven, by giving them to the needy. She thought I was joking, but a week later thieves broke into her house and stole all her clothes, those in her room and those in her spare room.
But if this woman had brought the clothes to the giving ministry, we would have given them to people who need them. Those people will bless God every time they wear the clothes and God would have blessed her. But now, she lost everything. When you are a giver, you have the boldness to confront God with your gift, you are entitled to put God to remembrance of the measure of your gift. But if there is nothing in your Heavenly store you have nothing to present before.
As you give this morning, give the best gift, the gift that you will remind God of in the time of need.
To God be the Glory.
