Disconnect yourself from every familiar spirit

In Leviticus 19:31, the Bible says “ Give no regard to mediums and familiar spirits; do not seek after them, to be defiled by them: I am the Lord your God”. So I want to talk about this scripture because God spoke to me about the bondage that most of you are in, due to ancestral worship. Many of you come from families where they practice idolatry in the form of appeasing ancestors.

But the Bible says you must not consult mediums or familiar spirits. The mediums maybe be in the form of seeking advice from the dead or taking instructions from the dead. But what do the dead and the living have in common. Some of you will say your late grandmother visited you in a dream and instructed you to erect a tombstone for her? That cannot be, your grandmother is dead, it’s a familiar spirit that visits you, seeking to draw you into the sin of idolatry.

Now many of you say that you are born again, you no longer partake in those ancestral worship activities, and indeed when your family go to appease ancestors you don’t go, but you send them money to buy whatever items that maybe required. You are partaking in ancestral worship, your money will speak for you at that ritual, and this is why even though you are now born again, you remain in bondage because of idolatry.

Tonight, we are going to pray, you need to disconnect yourself from every familiar spirit, from every idol and every ancestral worship. Then you must renounce every covenant that you made with these mediums and familiar spirit, whether you made it knowingly or unknowingly. You must also renounce all covenants made on your behalf by your family.

Listen to me and understand me well, I’m not saying you must reject and judge your family that is not yet born again and still practice idolatry, I’m saying you must not partake. You tell them clearly that “I’m a child of God and I will not worship any other god”. You are the light of your family, you are the one to take them out of that ancestral bondage. Do not reject them, but do not partake in any way.

Some of you have also been named after late relatives, now the curse upon that name follows you everywhere. You need to renounce every connection you have with the dead because of that name. God says I will give you a new name, this does not mean you will go to the department of home affairs and change your name, but in the spiritual realm you will carry a name that does not connect you to the dead.

Some of you dream eating and feasting with the dead. It’s because of the covenant you have with the dead. Disconnect yourself and renounce all those covenants. Then live by the Word of God and trust only in the Name of Jesus. If you still have ancestral cloths or materials at home, burn them, do not give them to someone else. How can you give someone a curse?

Trust only in the Name of Jesus, and you will see the power of God.
