Cast your burden unto God.
One thing that you must know and be sure of as a child of God is that God loves you so much. Jesus displays the love of God in Matthew 11: 28 to 30, when He says “ Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” There is no way that Jesus would call you for nothing, but He calls you because He loves you and He sees that you need rest.
In verse 29 And 30 He says “ Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” Jesus calls us to himself because He sees the heavy burden on our shoulders. What is your heavy burden? Is it financial crisis? Is it marital frustration? Or career stagnancy? Is it disunity in the family? Take the yoke of Jesus, because it’s easy.
The world may reject you, but Jesus says He wants to give you rest for your soul. How many of you today have been going to interviews to various companies? When you get there, you do very well and in your heart you see that you have done well, the company promises you to appoint you but in the end they reject you? That is a heavy burden.
How many here are saying I’m the best wife that a man can ask for, I submit to my husband, I respect him and honor him, but I have nothing to show for it? That is your heavy burden. It is heavy, you cannot be whom God has called you to be when you are carrying a heavy burden, that is why Jesus says “Take my yoke upon you”.
Tonight as you give, cast your burden to God, give your heavy load to God. As you Give speak to God and say “ Lord, you said I must learn from you, as in giving tonight, I exchange my heavy yoke for your rest”. Your giving can cause you to be released from your heavy burden. Some of you are bound by fear, whenever you try to do good, fear discourages you. Exchange it for the light Yoke that Jesus gives.
When you give, trust in God and let go of your problem, believe that God is working out a solution for you, and in time you will experience the rest of God. Give from your heart and speak to God, your gift will open a way for you. Your gift will lead you to the rest that God is taking about. Give without complaining and grumbling, you are casting your burden unto God.
When we read the Bible we learn that Isaac had so much blessings that he transferred them to his son Jacob. Isaac got his blessings from Abraham his father. The Bible tells us that we are the sons of Abraham, we cannot be sons of Abraham and live with a heavy yoke and a heavy burden. If we are truly the sons of Abraham, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, will bless us in the same way that He blessed our fore father Abraham. All we need is to trust in His Word and to come to Him as He calls us.
As you give tonight, be assured that you are free from that burden.
Blessed be the Name of the Lord.
